Lehigh University

Educating the global leaders of tomorrow.

I formed the Iacocca Institute as a joint venture with my Alma Mater, Lehigh University. Its mission is to empower the leaders of tomorrow through programs and activities critical to global and local leadership. Among those of which I'm most proud is The Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry.

Every summer, this program hosts 75 young business leaders at Lehigh University for six weeks. Since its inception, students from over one hundred countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, North and South America, and Europe have attended. The experience allows interns to participate in interactive seminar style courses, company projects, executive meetings, country panels and on-site visits. These activities enable participants to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, business and industry knowledge, and an in-depth understanding of other cultures.

The idea for the Iacocca Institute at Lehigh University emerged from the question, How do you go about building global leadership? How do you demonstrate to people from different worlds that their commonalities are greater than their differences?
